As part of our commitment to the environment we have been working with carbon offset company co2balance.com to calculate the amount of carbon dioxide that the fuel we supply to our client’s produces.
Customers will be given the option to then offset this carbon to create CarbonZero Fuel.
Carbon Offsetting Projects in Africa
When you choose to make your fuel CarbonZero, funds will be invested into projects in Africa that will see local communities receive solar and energy efficient ovens. These ovens either replace the firewood that they traditionally use, or significantly reduce the amount that is needed, producing far less carbon emissions than would have otherwise been created. As well as the savings in greenhouse gas emissions there are added spin off benefits, such as saving the user time and money in collecting or buying firewood, as well as health and safety benefits.
How you can buy CarbonZero Fuel
The carbon footprint of the fuel that you buy through Yacht Fuel Services will be calculated through a dedicated carbon calculator that has been created by co2balance.com. You will then have the option to offset this carbon when you pay your invoice by making an additional contribution towards an offset project. To recognise your purchase of CarbonZero Fuel and your contribution to fighting climate change you will receive a personalised certificate via email.
